THE LONELY TREE
In front of
my window,
Far away in
the middle of a mountain,
There is a
tree
A lonely
tree.
I have
always thought
What sense
does it have,
A lonely
tree,
In the
middle of the mountain?
Until I
made an excursion
To the peak
of the mountain
The sun was
blazing
And the way
so long
I thought I
couldn’t walk any more
The sweat slipping
down my face
My legs
begging for mercy
The air
struggling to arrive into my lungs
Then, a
present from the gods:
There majestically
it stood,
In the middle
of the incline,
The lonely
tree
I could
experience the big sense of it
generous, it gave us its shadow
Protection from
the sun
A pleasant fresh
hug
What
delight to sit under a tree
To rest in
its greenness
smelling
its scent
feeling
protected, feeling at home.
Sometimes
it seems hard to be myself
Like the lonely
tree
It is strange
to be genuine
Feeling nude
in the middle of the mountain
But there
is one meaning
And it’s
essential to unfold it
With the strength
of the lonely tree
I dare to spread
all that is in me.
